On the vast grasslands of Xinghe County in Ulanqab, 55 WD190-6250 WTGS stand tall like giants, dancing against the wind. This is the wind power grid connection project with the largest energy storage configuration in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region - Tianshun Ulanqab Xinghe Wind Power Project.
One step west of Beijing is Ulanqab. Through this project, Windey WTGS are continuously converting wind energy into electric energy, to contribute to the construction of big data center in Ulanqab and the implementation of green energy substitution in all aspects, provide reliable guarantees for the wind in Ulanqab to illuminate the lights in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and bring impetus to the high-quality economic and social development of Ulanqab.
It is reported that Ulanqab is an important wind power energy base in China, located in the central part of Inner Mongolia, adjacent to the Beijing- Tianjin-Hebei power load center. It has abundant wind and solar resources and is one of the rare resource areas in China. The total amount of wind and PV resources that can be developed and utilized is up to 76 million kilowatts. According to the overall deployment of air pollution prevention and control in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the National Energy Administration has designated the Ulanqab Wind Power Base as one of the key bases for clean energy supply and reducing air pollution emissions in North China. With the proposal of the national “carbon peaking and carbon neutrality” goal, Ulanqab has ushered in a new development opportunity to build a new power system with new energy as the main body.
In May 2022, Windey Northern Headquarters (Ulanqab) Intelligent Industry Base held a ceremony for the first WTGS to roll off the production line and be put into operation, marking the Northern Headquarters large-scale wind power equipment manufacturing base officially put into production. WTGS has delivered over 500 5.XMW - 6.XMW WTGS only in Ulanqab. In the future, the green WTGS with a total capacity of over 3.3GW will release unprecedented vitality and vigour in Ulanqab.
Digital and intelligent new generation control system
Windey provides safe and efficient services for the construction of new power system in Ulanqab on the basis of digital new generation control system with artificial intelligence algorithms, and actively explores new energy development and construction models, to effectively solve the problems of low overall efficiency of the power system and insufficient complementarity of various power sources through joint optimal dispatching and efficient operation of the “wind, PV, storage”, ensuring the new energy consumption and utilization rate in large-scale base project, and relieving the power grid peak shaving and capacity support pressure, which is a vivid case to promote the achievement of “carbon peaking and carbon neutrality” goal. Tianshun Ulanqab Xinghe Wind Power Project, after connected to the grid with full capacity, has positive significance for improving the level of local power security, promoting high-quality development of the local economy, and adjusting domestic power energy structure, and will also better assist Ulanqab in realizing the concept of “ecological priority and green development” as soon as possible.
Large-scale, friendly green and low-carbon project
The WTGS capacity of Tianshun Ulanqab Xinghe Wind Power Project is up to 6.25MW. In the stage of large-scale domestic WTGS, Windey has overcome the difficulty in continuous iteration and upgrading of many WTGS core technologies, fully reflecting the research and development strength accumulated by Windey after more than 50 years of deep cultivation in wind power technology. After the completion of the project, it will play a positive demonstration role in the fields of large-scale grid friendly new energy development, multi-scenario application of energy storage power stations, large-scale new energy power stations to meet the peak load demand of the system, and comprehensive application of digital intelligent technology. In addition, it will significantly improve the level of regional clean energy consumption, enhance the regional power peak load guarantee ability, and help Inner Mongolia realize energy technology revolution and build a benchmark for modern energy economic development.
High quality, high reliability, and effective guarantee of project delivery
During the construction of the project, Windey, fully utilizing its strength as a leading new energy equipment manufacturing enterprise and an industry chain leader, has coordinated the promotion of various links such as industrial supporting, equipment delivery, installation and commissioning, providing all-round support for the project from lifting to the grid connection of the first batch of WTGS. In the equipment supply process, Windey has established a dedicated team with in-depth participation, careful planning, and strong organization, effectively overcome various difficulties such as component shortage, tight construction period, and lack of vehicle, and combining with Windey intelligent logistics system, completed the high-quality delivery of WTGS in large quantities.
Windey on-site construction and commissioning team actively promoted the excellent work style of overcoming difficulties, solidarity and cooperation, fought against wind, snow, severe cold, and extreme heat, and worked tirelessly day and night, and finally completed all lifting tasks at the beginning of this year. After the project is connected to the grid, the annual on-grid power can reach 1.6 billion kilowatt hours.
